If you recognize the art style, that’d be because I was imitating the style of the Articulate Storyline characters. It’s a very interesting challenge to make characters in someone else’s style! It works out for everyone, though. The team is helped out by getting characters, poses and emotions that they wouldn’t have access to by default, and I get to work out those artistic muscles. I started out making them for clients, but I decided we needed some representation of our own.
Design – particularly in cartoons – has always interested me, so I’m quite grateful to have the chance to do things like this for my job! Animation is another area of e-learning that I really enjoy. Perhaps you’ll see some of that in a blog post to come!
We have created custom Storyline characters for some of our clients who have wanted to have illustrated versions of their team in their elearning. When we created some Agresso elearning for Embridge Consulting, we used a mentor-led approach and created a character for one of their consultants, Tiago Bruno. We created custom Storyline characters for a number of the Embridge team so that their Agresso experts featured throughout the elearning courses. Here’s the example featuring Tiago:
