With the Embridge team flung far and wide across the UK, coming together on a regular basis can be a real challenge, but since when did Embridge shy away from the impossible?
Team meetings, team building events and team get togethers feature high up on the Embridge agenda and are vital when it comes to building supportive relationships between each other.
Our team meetings provide a safe open forum with a level playing field that gives everybody the opportunity and space to share ideas, feedback and listen. They also provide the perfect platform for a better understanding of the business across the team and a break from the humdrum of our daily roles.
Rallying the troops, clarifying our mission and reminding us that we are part of a team and entirely important to the business’s continued success is the role of the Big Cheese, MD Emma O’Brien and she ensures this happens, by bringing all 3 offices and the remote gang together for regular jaunts!
So with festive period being one of the most obvious excuses for a jolly up, on the 7th December, the entire permanent team converged in the big smoke of London, where we found ourselves perched 24 floors up in the magnificent Shard tower.
As if we weren’t lucky enough to be actually stepping inside the tallest building in Europe, little ‘ole Embridge went onto conduct its final team meeting of 2017 in one of its’ fine boardrooms, boasting floor to ceiling windows, and a panoramic view of our great capital. #feelingcorporate
With 2 hrs of business out of the way, we were then whisked up to the 69th floor and treated to a truly jaw dropping experience from the viewing platform.
Glass of champagne in hand and a sparkling night time view of the city as far as the eye could see, had everybody posing for selfies with the amazing backdrop.
Once safely back down at ground zero, the team headed off to The Renaissance St Pancras Hotel, for some grand Christmas merrymaking!
Plenty of punch, fizz and faire resulted in much joviality. Usual suspects had way too much fun (no names mentioned), while the less likely suspects also had a little too much fun (it’s always the quiet ones!) But hey, it was Christmas and the only gossip that can be shared at this level is that there were a few sore heads the next day!
Work? Challenging, tiring, exciting, frustrating, fun, a bit boring, satisfying and mostly necessary…. but at Embridge, after all is said and done, we all feel incredibly valued and that is why we are a growing team and not shrinking one!
