We are counting down the days here at GLAD Towers, no not until a birthday or Christmas but to our first appearance at the Learning Technologies exhibition in London.
In a week’s time we are going to be at Learning Technologies 2015. Learning Technologies is Europe’s leading exhibition and conference on learning technologies with 7,000 visitors expected.
As first timers in exhibiting, it has been an interesting exercise in researching and preparation, upping our marketing skills and making use of social media to let people know we will be there (hence this blog). So I thought I would share what we have learnt so far and then let you know how the exhibition pans out.
Our first learning curve has been investigating what type of stand to have by finding out what the difference is between a shell, a pop up, modular, custom or banner stands. Once we decided on a shell stand we then looked at how we could make our stand inviting. There is a lot on the web to help and inspire. Discussions followed about carpet type, furniture and background graphics followed.
I think the most discussed issue has been ‘how do we attract people to our stand?’ After lots of research and drawing on experience as visitors to exhibitions, we decided we wanted to a giveaway and/or a prize draw. Then the fun began in deciding what should they be? In the world of promotional material there is a lot out there ranging from a single sweet to sports bottles or ear phones. Then once we decided what we wanted, decisions on design and how many would we need. Just how many of the 7000 expected visitors are we going to get a chance to speak to?
We were all decided that we need to have a leaflet so people visiting us who don’t have an opportunity to speak to one of our team can still see what we do and how to contact us. The result below can be seen below, I think this really works and shows what we currently have to offer.
To find out what we decided to do with our stand and promotional material (fab prize draw you can win an Apple ipad Air, keep an eye on twitter and our website during the exhibition if you can’t get to see us) and come and visit us at Stand 200 at Learning Technologies 2015 the 28th and 29th January or come back to our blogs after the exhibition to find out how we got on.
