Every year, the Unit4 User Group Conference brings together a vibrant community of users, partners and product experts to exchange knowledge and explore how to get the most from Unit4 systems whether organisations are already in the cloud or just beginning their transformation journeys.
Held at the ThinkTank Museum in Birmingham on 11th – 12th June, this year’s event was no exception. Over two days of rich discussion, hands-on-learning, and shared experience, the conference showcased how innovation and collaboration are driving transformation across the Unit4 ecosystem.
Setting the stage
The Embridge team was proud to join the action, taking part in deep-dive sessions, real-world case studies, and candid conversations with fellow attendees. Day one carried a strong finance focus, while day two spotlighted partner-led solutions that are helping customers unlock more value from their Unit4 investment.
Key highlights
The Exeter’s refreshingly honest ERPx journey
A standout moment from day one was The Exeter’s case study an open and insightful look at their ERPx implementation. Rather than focus solely on the tech, the session highlighted the importance of planning, people, and timing in ensuring project success.
Their key message? Testing is everything. Rigorous testing gave the team the confidence to go live smoothly and catch potential issues early.
Rather than the usual year-end launch, they opted for a thoughtful mid-month go-live to lessen peak-pressure.
“What stood out in The Exeter’s journey was their willingness to challenge the norm. Their focus on people, planning, and timing, not just technology, really echoes what we see in the most successful projects.”
Daniel Chilton, Chief Experience Officer, Embridge Consulting
Smarter Accounts Payable with AI and LEO
On day two, Tiago Bruno, Integration Architect at Embridge, tackled a key challenge:
“How do you streamline Accounts Payable processing without adding pressure to IT teams?”
He walked through how RSBG is using AI-powered automation and Embridge’s LEO Managed Integration Platform to reduce effort and increase accuracy, by:
- Automating invoice extraction and approvals
- Enhancing validation checks
- Reducing manual intervention and processing time
The session sparked great engagement from attendees looking to adopt automation without complexity.
“LEO isn’t just about moving data; it’s about delivering outcomes. With full UK data residency, real-time monitoring, and platform-agnostic flexibility, LEO gives organisations complete control over their integrations today, and the confidence to evolve tomorrow.”
Tiago Bruno, Integration Architect from Embridge Consulting
Integration and AI take centre stage
A clear theme emerged across the conference: growing interest in Integration-as-a-Service (IaaS) and the expanding role of AI.
Attendees came with questions about connecting systems more effectively, reducing manual effort, and stepping into intelligent automation – particularly for finance functions like invoice processing, budgeting, and forecasting.
IaaS is no longer a buzzword; it’s becoming a practical, accessible solution. More organisations now want an integration partner who can manage the full lifecycle – not just provide one-off fixes.
“Integration has moved beyond the IT department – it’s now a boardroom conversation. Smart, scalable solutions that connect systems and empower people are driving the next wave of transformation.”
Tiago Bruno, Integration Architect from Embridge Consulting
Making connections
One of the most valuable aspects of the Unit4 User Group Conference is the opportunity to connect with peers and experts. At its heart, the User Group community exists to encourage shared learning because chances are, something you’ve already tackled is exactly what someone else is trying to solve.
Bringing ERPx, LEO and AI to life
The partner zone buzzed with hands-on demos and lively discussion. Our Action Figure Factory turned heads and sparked conversations, using creativity to bring the idea of personalised transformation to life through ERPx, LEO, and AI. Visitors had fun designing their own transformation action figures and meeting the Embridge Bears – each one embodying a unique ‘superpower’ inspired by our services.
Final thoughts
The 2025 Unit4 UK User Group Conference was a powerful reminder that transformation isn’t just about technology – it’s about people. From ERPx implementation stories to the momentum around AI and integration, one message came through loud and clear: successful change starts with collaboration and ends with real-world outcomes.
At Embridge, we believe in putting people at the heart of transformation. Whether we’re supporting customers with ERPx, enabling automation through LEO, or guiding change journeys, our people first transformation approach ensures that solutions aren’t just implemented- they’re embraced.
We’re proud to partner with organisations across the Unit4 community, helping them navigate change confidently and build digital foundations that empower their people.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the event – let’s keep the conversation going.
