Embridge’s Tiago Bruno gears up for Baja Portalegre 500 to support Leo’s Angels

On 24th to 25th October 2025, Tiago Bruno, Integration Architect at Embridge Consulting, will be fulfilling a lifelong dream – racing in the Baja Portalegre 500, one of Portugal’s most iconic off-road motorsports events. Held in his hometown of Portalegre, this race is more than just a personal milestone, it’s a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and support for epilepsy care.

While Embridge Consulting is proudly sponsoring Tiago’s entry into the Baja Portalegre 500, his focus will be on promoting Leo’s Angels – a memorial fund founded by Embridge’s CEO Emma O’Brien in memory of her son, Leo, to drive meaningful change in epilepsy care. Tiago will be racing in a t-shirt bearing the Leo’s Angels logo, a powerful tribute to the mission Emma has championed with unwavering dedication.

Tiago Bruno’s lifelong dream to race in Portalegre

The Baja Portalegre 500 is a legendary off-road race that has been part of the FIA TT World Cup since its inception in 1987. Known for its rugged terrain and international prestige, the event attracts elite riders and thousands of spectators to the Alto Alentejo region. The 39th edition of the race will once again challenge riders with fierce competition.

Growing up in Portalegre, Tiago remembers that “all the kids wanted to be in the Baja.” While him and his friends could only watch from the sidelines, the dream of one day competing stayed with him.

Life, however, had other plans. A mix of limited time, money, his parents not letting him, and even health setbacks kept him from entering the race in his youth. His first attempt at off-road biking ended badly, but Tiago’s ambition only grew stronger! Two years ago, Tiago decided it was time to start again – properly this time. He completely reset his lifestyle, trading old habits for healthier choices and committing fully to training.

By 2024, Tiago had built the strength and stamina needed to compete. His commitment saw him running every day and entering organised events with his brother to support epilepsy charities. These included the EDP 8K Run across Lisbon’s Vasco da Gama Bridge, the São Silvestre Lisbon 10K Night Run, and the Benfica 10K Run. Each event brought him closer to his ultimate goal: racing in the Baja Portalegre 500.

Leo’s Angels: Committed to improving epilepsy care

While the Baja Portalegre 500 is a personal dream for Tiago, he is determined to use the opportunity to highlight the mission of Leo’s Angels. The memorial fund was created by Emma O’Brien in honour of her son, Leo, who passed away from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in December 2023. Leo’s story exposed the urgent need for better, data-driven healthcare systems and more responsive support for families for families facing epilepsy. Through technology, Leo’s Angels is committed to improving epilepsy care, empowering clinicians, and saving lives.

Tiago would love your support as he takes on the Baja Portalegre 500. By supporting him and donating to Leo’s Angels, you can help fund vital work to improve epilepsy care and support families affected by the condition. Every donation counts, and by backing Tiago in this race, you’re helping turn his personal challenge into a real opportunity to make a difference.

At Embridge, we are incredibly proud of Tiago’s dedication and commitment. His passion for tackling the Baja Portalegre 500 and his personal commitment to supporting Leo’s Angels truly embodies the values we champion as a business. We are thrilled to support him every step of the way and celebrate his efforts to raise awareness and funds for such an important cause.
