The objectives of this course are to help you understand:

• The basic structure of the Absence Management module and its interaction with other components of Unit4 ERP
• How to set up personal work schedules and holiday plans
• How to link personal work schedules to resources and generate work schedules
• How to set up absence codes, absence groups and relations
• How to set up absence limit controls
• The connections between absence and payroll
• How to enter absence details for a resource in Web

Course Structure

Session 1

Absence Overview

In this session you will be given an introduction of the key concepts of the Absence Management module and introduce the elements required for its management.

Session 2

Absence System Setup

In this session you will be shown how to check or setup Personal work schedules and Public holidays giving you an understanding of the key considerations for the included setup as follows:

• Absence attributes
• Start day of work schedule
• Valid day types
• Day type registration in work schedules
• Weekly work schedule
• Public holiday setup
• Holiday scheme setup

Session 3

Linking Absence to a Resource or Position

In this session you will be shown how to link personal work schedules at:

• Resource level
• Positions level

Session 4

Generating Work schedules

In this session you will be shown how to generate personal work schedules and how to make any changes if required.

• Generate a personal work schedule
• Viewing the personal work schedule calendar

Session 5

In this session you will be shown an overview of the setup on the following elements:

• Absence codes
• Reason codes
• Absence groups
• Absence code relations
• Absence Formulas
• Absence Limit Controls
• Absence Connections to Payroll

Session 6

Absence Entry and Workflow

In this session you will be shown how to enter absences in Unit4 ERP and provides examples of the associated workflow processing.

This section focuses on entry using the following areas:

• The ‘Employment absence’ screen
• The absence Experience Pack
• Entry as a HR user or Line Manager
