Learn how to manage the entire asset lifecycle including the deployment, processing, maintenance and tracking of assets.

Summary

Remove the need for keeping separate external spreadsheets with manual depreciation calculations by learning how to manage and centralise all asset information in one place.

Aimed at any Finance user that wishes to understand the Unit4 ERP’s integrated Fixed Asset module and how routines for capitalisation and depreciation are calculated, (including how to understand and perform year end processes) providing familiarity of the functionality so asset values can be transparently maintained and easily reported on.

To understand how to create and maintain assets using the Unit4 ERP Fixed Assets module to enhance internal skills and knowledge of:

  • The Unit4 ERP Fixed Assets standard processes
  • How to create and capitalise an asset
  • How to depreciate assets including the simulation process
  • How to maintain assets using transactions
  • How to run enquires within the Asset module
  • How to process the year end routine

Session 1

Creating and Capitalising and Asset

In this session you will gain an understanding of the Unit4 ERP Fixed Assets creation and capitalisation process.

You will learn about:

  • Creating an asset
  • Depreciation books
  • Depreciation methods and lifetime
  • Flexi fields on the asset master file
  • Capitalising an asset

Session 2

Depreciation

This session provides an understanding of the processes for the depreciation of assets.

You will learn about:

  • How to run the depreciation proposal
  • How to review and maintain the depreciation proposal
  • How to run the depreciation confirmation

Session 3

Transaction Entry

In this session you will gain a good understanding of how to create transactions to perform adjustments and amendments to assets and how to use the reversal function.

You will learn about:

  • Additions
  • Revaluation
  • Sales and disposals
  • Changes and corrections
  • Reversal
  • Manual and extraordinary depreciation

Session 4

Depreciation Simulation

This session looks at how to understand and perform a depreciation simulation process.

Session 5

Asset Enquiries

This session covers the standard and new enquiries available in the fixed assets module.

The following will be covered in this section:

  • Depreciation base
  • Asset enquiry
  • Depreciation book enquiry
  • Information Browser

Session 6

Year End

This session covers how understand and perform the fixed asset year end process.
