This course will give your users an introduction to the Unit4 ERP workflow capabilities giving them insight in to how they can support your internal automation requirements to build efficiencies into your own processes.

Course Structure

Session 1

Introduction to Workflow​

In this session you will have an overview and introduction to the workflow in Unit4 ERP to understand what it is and how it is used.

The areas it will explain are:

  • What is workflow?
  • Looking at a workflow process
  • Workflow terminologies
  • Workflow application
  • Workflow, document archive and action overview

Session 2

Workflow essentials

In this session you will be introduced to the essential elements that are needed for workflow in the Unit4 ERP.

The areas it will explain are:

  • Element types
  • Process definition
  • Distribution rules
  • Users and roles

Session 3

Creating a basic Workflow​

In this session you will define a simple workflow process from scratch based on a scenario.

This will cover the following:

  • Understanding and defining the business process (on paper)
  • Identifying the key setup required to build the workflow business process
  • Understanding and modelling the steps in the Unit4 ERP to create the workflow map
  • Confirming / building the necessary supporting setups

Session 4

Testing / Running Workflow

In this session you will cover testing and running of the end-to-end workflow process to gain an understanding of how a workflow will be used by an end-user.

This will cover the following:

  • Workflow scenarios
  • Entering Journals in U4 ERP Web
  • Running workflow enquiries
  • Approving and Rejecting workflow tasks

Session 5

Items to Follow Up

In this session you will be introduced to the Items to Follow Up area in the Unit4 ERP workflow to understand and learn how to manage workflow distribution troubleshooting.

This will cover the following:

  • What is “items to follow up”?
  • Looking at element types
  • Triggering an “items to follow up” workflow task
  • Items to follow-up window

Session 6

Managing Users

In this session you will learn how to manage workflow users, limits, supervisors and substitutes and understanding the relationship between these settings.

This will cover the following:

  • Workflow limits
  • Setting user supervisors
  • Substitution
  • Supporting enquiries
