Summary

Supporting the understanding of efficient and effective budget management in the Unit4 ERP, this half day course will provide familiarisation with the Planner module so users can streamline your budget setting process supporting the delivery of transparent reporting to managers.

BC2 overview

In this session you will have an overview of the Planner module
This will cover discussion the following features:

  • Limitless planning horizon (weeks, months, years)
  • Limitless number of versions
  • Modelling for forecasting
  • Budget templates
  • Integration with Project Costing & Billing, Human Resources, Fixed Assets, and Procurement
  • Workflow for approval of budgets
  • Extensive enquiry facilities for interrogation and display of budget data

Session 2

Basic Planner Setup

In this session you will gain an understanding of the basic setup required.

You will learn:

  • The setup of Periods and Timeframes used in Planner
  • Planner Accounts and Account Rules setup
  • Understanding Planner Versions
  • Understanding Transaction Entry Setup

Session 3

Transaction Entry

In this session you will gain a basic understanding of entering transactions manually.

You will learn:

  • Entering manual transaction in Planner
  • How to run transaction enquiries in Planner
  • The use of comparisons and profiles
  • The use of relations with manual transactions
  • How data is copied from one version to another

Session 4

Forecasting

In this session we cover forecasting and how it can be used in Unit4 ERP giving you an understanding of the forecasting tools and some of the setup required.

Session 5

Excelerator Postback

In this session you will gain a basic understanding the use of Excel with Planner and you will learn how to load existing budgets and post back budgets using Excel and the add-in Unit4 tool Excelerator.

Session 6

Reporting

In this session you will gain an understanding of how to report on Planner transactions.

You will learn:

  • The balances tables setup for Planner data
  • How to view Planner data from the balance table
