This comprehensive course shows how to leverage the Excelerator add-in to create informative spreadsheet reports based on browser enquiries via extraction of from the Unit4 ERP tables or enquiry results windows supporting additional flexibility in reporting options, for any corporate audience needs.

Learning outcomes

The objectives of the course are to help you:

  • Develop an understanding of the scope and functionality of Excelerator, and how it interacts with Unit4 ERP
  • Understand the key worksheets which are used in Excelerator
  • Be able to write reports on the Unit4 ERP database using Excelerator, by extracting data from Unit4 ERP balance tables
  • Be able to write reports from within Unit4 ERP using Excelerator on the results of an Information Browser enquiry

Before starting this course, users should understand Unit4 ERP reporting and the use of Information Browsers plus the following functions in Microsoft Excel:

  • Insert rows, columns, and worksheets
  • Format cells, rows, columns, and sheets
  • Use formulas in cells to total, subtract, and calculate percentages

An Introduction to Excelerator

This session provides you with an introduction to Excelerator, and covers:

  • An overview of Excelerator
  • An overview of how Excelerator uses Browser tables
  • The Excelerator menu in Excel
  • Looking at workbook structures
  • Producing basic reports
  • Excelerator Best Practice
  • Applying Keywords
Session 2

Producing a Basic Excelerator Report

This session provides you with an introduction to creating new Excelerator reports from the results of a Browser enquiry and covers:

  • Creating an Information Browser enquiry
  • Creating a basic report in Excelerator using the data from a Browser enquiry
  • Refining the report
  • Adding relations and structures to the Excelerator report
Session 3

Formatting Reports

This session demonstrates how you can use the functionality of both Excelerator and Excel to format Excelerator reports. It covers:

  • Formatting a report
  • Looking at formatting keywords
  • Looking at Source formatting keywords
  • Looking at Column formatting keywords
  • Looking at Active formatting keywords
Session 4

Selecting Data for Reports

This session provides you with an overview of how you can select the Unit4 ERP data that you want to use in an Excelerator report, and the parameters that are available to assist you with data selection. It covers:

  • Looking at Excelerator data selection parameters
  • Entering data selection parameters
  • Using keywords
Session 5

Creating Reports with Subtotals

This session provides you with an introduction to the subtotaling functionality of Excelerator, and covers:

  • Looking at subtotaling keywords
  • Creating a single level subtotal report
  • Creating a multilevel subtotal report
Session 6

Creating a Report Using the Report Engine

This session provides you with an introduction to creating a report from the results of an Information Browser enquiry and covers:

  • Creating a report using the report engine tool
  • Displaying reports from the menus
