The HR Familiarisation course has been designed to improve the attendees understanding of HR in your workplace.

Available to all types of user, this course offers a truly enterprise approach to enable understanding of the available system functions resulting and where they impact other system elements providing insight to development of your own growth strategies.

Learning outcomes

This course is designed as an introduction to gain a high-level understanding of the HR module capabilities rather than train participants on how to set up and use the system, providing an awareness of the Unit4 ERP’s standard HR functionality that is available enabling them to understand how it can be configured to meet your organisation’s HR needs.

It will highlight some of the key HR design areas and initiate preliminary discussions which will enable participants to:

  • Actively participate in HR design workshops
  • Provide critical input into all HR design decisions
  • Start to prepare critical information in advance of design workshops
  • Validate the proposed solution design

Course Structure

Session 1

Positions

In this session you will be given a basic introduction to positions in the Unit4 ERP HR module. You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What positions are and their uses for HR
  • What information can be captured against positions
Session 2

Resource Master File

In this session you will be given an introduction to the standard employee record in the Unit4 ERP HR module.

You will be given an overview on:

  • What the resource master file is and its uses for HR
  • What information can be captured against employees
Session 3

Payments & Deductions

In this session you will be given a basic introduction to Payments and Deductions (‘P&Ds’) in the Unit4 ERP HR module allowing you to understand how the payment setup interacts with HR.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What Payment and Deductions are, and their uses for HR
  • How Payment and Deductions are defined
  • How Payment and Deductions are recorded
  • What value references and value reference rates are and how they feed Payments and Deductions
Session 4

Absence Management

In this session you will be given a basic introduction to absence in the Unit4 ERP HR module. You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What absence functionality is available for HR and its uses
  • How work schedules, absence codes and limits can be used
  • How absence is recorded
Session 5

Competence

In this session you will be given a basic introduction to competencies in the Unit4 ERP HR module.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What competence functionality is available for HR
  • How competences can be defined and recorded
Session 6

Training & Development

In this session you will be given a basic introduction to Training & Development in the Unit4 ERP HR module.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What Training management functionality is available for HR
  • How training courses are defined
Session 7

Flexi Fields

In this session you will learn about what flexi fields are and how used by HR to extend the standard HR data capture.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What flexi fields are and their uses for HR
Session 8

Forms

In this session you will learn about how the standard Unit4 ERP HR Form functionality can be used to convert paper based procedures into electronic processing allowing automation of appropriate HR practices.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • What forms are and their uses for HR
Session 9

Basic HR Reporting

In this session you will learn about the internal reporting tool available in the Unit4 ERP to support HR process management and KPI reporting. Whilst a full suite of reporting and analytics tools are available, only Information Browsers will be explored in this session.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • Information Browser reporting functionality and its uses
Session 10

HR Workflow

In this session you will get an insight into the standard workflow functionality provided in the Unit4 ERP and how this key automation tool can help to support your HR processes.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • Workflow functionality and its uses
  • Basic elements of building workflow
Session 11

HR Notifications

In this session you will get an insight into the standard Unit4 ERP notification tool IntellAgent and how this alerting solution can help to automate a number of tasks which may otherwise be completed manually by HR.

You will be given a basic overview on:

  • IntellAgent functionality and its uses for HR
