This one day course will show users how to create and manage their own projects using Unit4 ERP’s Integrated Project Costing & Billing (PCB) module allowing them to maintain and classify the required data for your capital and internal projects, consultancy and awarded research projects easily and as there is no separate project ledger requiring reconciliation, all transactions are referenced and easily traceable.
Learning outcomes
This course is designed for Super Users to gain an in-depth understanding of the Unit4 Projects module structure and the setup of PCB, projects, project costs, timesheet processing, and how to run related enquiries.
This course will help you understand:
- How to create and maintain projects and work orders
- Project basic structure links to costings and workflow
- Project setups for costing
- How to set up draft projects and convert them into live projects
- Project workflow and approval
- How to enter Timesheets and Process timesheets (Post to General Ledger)
- How to run enquires and create a template
- The different functions in Unit4 desktop and Unit4 web

Session 1
Projects (PCB) Overview
In this session you will gain an understanding of the Unit4 ERP PCB and the structure of projects.
You will learn:
- What is PCB in the Unit4 ERP system?
- How PCB is integrated with other Unit4 ERP modules
- The project functionality
- How projects are structured
Session 2
PCB setup
In this session you will understand the setup for the PCB module.
The areas it will cover are:
- Common Fixed Registers Setup
- Resource Setup
- Project Fixed Registers Costs Setup
Session 3
Project Setup
In this session you will understand how to set up the project master file.
The following will be covered:
- Project setup
- Exploring the project master file
- Activity based project set up
- How to set up a work order
- Exploring the work order master file
- How to set up a work order
Session 4
Project Approval, Timesheet Entry & Processing
In this session you will gain an understanding of the project workflow, approval processing and timesheets in the Unit4 ERP.
You will learn the following:
- Understand master file workflow approval concept
- Understand draft project approval
Session 5
Project GL Postings (not using timesheets)
In this session you will look at how GL transactions are entered and posted against Projects.
You will learn the following:
- Understand Account Rules and Postings to Projects
- Enter GL Transactions to reflect our Project, Workorders and Cost code
- Understand the link between posting and enquiries – such as Project Budgets vs Actuals Reporting
Session 6
Project Enquiries Using Information Browser
In this session you will understand how to run Unit4 ERP Information Browser to run general project enquiries, save them and share them with colleagues.
